National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has released the official recruitment notification (Advertisement No: A-12011/3/2025-Estb) for the recruitment of various posts on a Regular Basis. A total of 53 vacancies are announced across Deputy Director (Medical), Junior Programmer, Junior Accountant, Stenographer, and Junior Assistant. Age Limit and Qualifications (as of 20/07/2026)

  • Deputy Director (Medical) (Group A):
    • Age Limit: Maximum 35 Years.
    • Educational Qualification: A recognized Postgraduate Medical qualification under the Medical Council Act, 1956.
  • Junior Programmer (Group B):
    • Age Limit: Maximum 27 Years.
    • Educational Qualification: Graduate degree B.E. / B.Tech. / BCA / DOEACC B or C Level in Computer Science / IT / Electronics or equivalent.
  • Junior Accountant (Group C):
    • Age Limit: Maximum 27 Years.
    • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree with Mathematics or Statistics, or Bachelor's degree in Commerce. Must qualify the prescribed test conducted by NBEMS.
  • Stenographer (Group C):
    • Age Limit: 18 to 27 Years.
    • Educational Qualification: 12th (Senior Secondary) passed. Shorthand speed of 80 wpm and typing speed of 30 wpm in English. Must qualify the exam conducted by the Board.
  • Junior Assistant (Group C):
    • Age Limit: Maximum 27 Years.
    • Educational Qualification: 12th (Senior Secondary) passed. Must be proficient in computer operations and basic software packages. Must qualify the exam conducted by NBEMS.
  • Age Relaxation: Standard relaxations apply (OBC: 3 years, SC/ST: 5 years, PwD UR: 10 years, PwD OBC: 13 years, PwD SC/ST: 15 years).

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through the following two phases (for Group B & C posts):

  1. Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT):
    • The test will consist of 200 objective questions carrying 200 marks, with a duration of 180 minutes (3 hours).
    • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
    • Syllabus: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks), General Awareness (50 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks), and English Comprehension (50 marks).
    • Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and 50% for others.
  2. Stage-II: Computer Knowledge / Skill Test:
    • Candidates shortlisted at a 1:5 ratio will be called for a 100-mark Skill Test (duration: 75 minutes).
    • Includes data entry, word processing, computer operations, and shorthand as per the post requirement.
    • Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and 50% for others.
  3. Final Merit List: Calculated based on the total score of CBT (Stage-I) and Skill Test (Stage-II) combined.

*Note: No interview is conducted for Group B and Group C posts. The exam scheme and syllabus for Deputy Director (Medical) and Junior Programmer will be notified on the NBEMS website soon.
