IBPS PO/MT CRP-XVI Detailed Notification Details

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the detailed notification for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) for the recruitment and selection of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT). A total of 6715 indicative vacancies are available across various participating public sector banks. Age Limit and Qualifications (as on 21/07/2026)

  • Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026): Minimum Age: 20 Years, Maximum Age: 30 Years. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1996 and not later than 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation SC/ST 5 years, OBC (NCL) 3 years, PwBD 10 years.
  • Qualifications Required:

    A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/she is a graduate on the day he/she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

  • Salary Scale:

    Probationary Officer/Management Trainee Basic Pay: ₹48,480 - ₹85,920 (Scale-I). Allowances and perquisites will be eligible as per rules of the Participating Bank in force from time to time.

Selection Methodology

  1. Preliminary Online Examination (Objective Test):
    • English Language: 30 Questions, 30 Marks, 20 Minutes (Medium: English)
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions, 30 Marks, 20 Minutes (Medium: English/Hindi)
    • Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions, 40 Marks, 20 Minutes (Medium: English/Hindi)
    • Total: 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 60 Minutes (Separately timed for each section).
    • Penalty for wrong answers: 0.25 (one-fourth) of the marks assigned to that question.
  2. Main Online Examination (Objective + Descriptive Test):
    • Reasoning: 40 Questions, 60 Marks, 45 Minutes
    • General / Economy / Banking / Digital / Financial Awareness: 50 Questions, 60 Marks, 35 Minutes
    • English Language: 40 Questions, 20 Marks, 35 Minutes
    • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 40 Questions, 60 Marks, 45 Minutes
    • Descriptive Paper (Essay & Comprehension): 2 Questions, 25 Marks, 30 Minutes (Medium: English)
    • Total: 172 Questions, 225 Marks, 190 Minutes.
    • Penalty for wrong answers: 0.25 (one-fourth) of marks deducted.
  3. Personality Test & Common Interview: Candidates who score sufficiently high in the Online Main Examination will be shortlisted. Main Exam to Interview marks weightage is 80:20.
