Delhi High Court DHJS Exam 2026 Short Details

High Court of Delhi, New Delhi has invited online applications from eligible candidates for filling up 27 vacancies (24 existing and 3 anticipated) by way of direct recruitment in Delhi Higher Judicial Service. The selection will be conducted through the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination (DHJS) 2026 in three successive stages: Preliminary Exam (Objective Type), Mains Exam (Written), and Viva-Voce. Application Fee

Age Limit and Qualifications (as on 15/07/2026)

  • Age Limit: Must have attained the age of 35 years and must not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date of receipt of application (15 July 2026).
  • Qualifications Required:
    • Must be a citizen of India.
    • In case of an **Advocate**, must have been continuously practicing for not less than seven (7) years as on the last date of receipt of applications, i.e., 15.07.2026.
    • In case of **Judicial Officers**, must have already completed seven years in Bar before subordinate service recruitment, OR must have 7 years combined experience as a Judicial Officer and an Advocate as on 15.07.2026.
    • Combined experience of seven years or more as an Advocate or a Judicial Officer is mandatory.
  • Salary Scale: Pay Scale (J-5) Rs. 1,44,840 - 1,94,660.

*Note: 3 out of 5 vacancies reserved for SC category and 4 out of 5 vacancies reserved for ST category are backlog vacancies. Out of the 27 vacancies, 03 vacancies are reserved for PwBD category candidates (1 Blindness/Low Vision, 1 Locomotor, 1 Specific Learning/Multiple Disability).

Selection Stages

  1. DHJS Preliminary Examination: Objective type examination with 25% negative marking. It is qualifying in nature and will be held on Sunday, 26 July 2026 from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
  2. DHJS Mains Written Examination: Candidates qualifying in the prelims will be admitted to the Main written examination.
  3. Viva-Voce (Interview): Candidates qualifying the written exam will be called for Viva-Voce.
