Age Limit and Eligibility

  • Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India. Male, Female, and Third Gender candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Educational Qualification (as on 01/08/2025): Graduation (Bachelor's Degree) or equivalent from a recognized university.

    • General (UR) Male: 20 - 37 Years
    • General (UR) Female / BC / EBC Male & Female: 20 - 40 Years
    • SC / ST Male & Female & Third Gender: 20 - 42 Years
    • Bihar Government Employees: 5 Years age relaxation (who completed 3 years of regular service).

Selection Process

The recruitment process for the BPSSC Company Commander post will consist of the following stages:

  1. Written Examination (Prelims & Mains):
    • Preliminary Exam: 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours duration. Focuses on General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Candidates must score at least 30% marks to qualify for the Mains. Vacancies x 20 times candidates will be selected for Mains.
    • Mains Exam: Consists of two papers.
      • Paper I: General Hindi, 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours (Qualifying: min 30%, marks not counted in merit list).
      • Paper II: General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics & Mental Ability. 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours.
    • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in both Prelims and Mains.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Qualifying:
    • Race: Male: 1 Mile (1.6 km) in 6 minutes 30 seconds; Female: 1 km in 6 minutes.
    • High Jump: Male: Min 4 feet; Female: Min 3 feet.
    • Long Jump: Male: Min 12 feet; Female: Min 9 feet.
    • Shot Put: Male: 16 pound shot thrown min 16 feet; Female: 12 pound shot thrown min 10 feet.
  3. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final verification of certificates and health checks before final allocation.
